Open positions:

Web Designer

We are looking for a talented web designer to add to our digital design team. A strong work ethic is key (because we all work really hard—but mostly only between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.). Our digital projects include websites with complex content, mobile apps, and email templates.

To qualify, you must:

  • Possess excellent design and visual composition skills with a strong understanding of color, layout, and typography (yes, for the web!)
  • Commit to creating great user experiences
  • Understand basic principles of usability and interaction design
  • Be able to articulate clear user interaction flow through detailed site maps, wireframe schematics, and related documentation
  • Rapidly iterate through design layouts and prototypes
  • Have at least modest HTML/CSS skills, with a desire to learn more
  • Be a team player and able to interface with technical partners
  • Be platform agnostic
  • Enjoy Friday lunches and Thursday happy hours on terraces overlooking Manhattan streets

Bonus points for:

  • Planning, creating, and/or administering usability tests
  • Designing for responsive websites
  • Building and administering sites in popular CMSs (Wordpress, ExpressionEngine, Drupal)

Designers (Mid-level to Senior)

We’re looking for mid-level and senior designers to work on identity systems, websites, print collateral, and marketing campaigns for clients in a range of sectors—including financial, nonprofit, medical, educational, and commercial.

To qualify, you must:

  • Have 3 – 10+ years of agency design experience
  • Possess excellent concepting, typography, and layout skills
  • Command superior knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Have working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Respect editorial and production processes
  • Be organized and methodical with files
  • Be able to take charge but also collaborate with the team

Information Architect/UX Designer

We’re looking for an information architect (IA) to analyze both client and end-user needs and leverage the findings into sitemaps, wireframes, and functional specification documents for websites. The IA will collaborate closely with our strategists, writers, project managers, and partners to create the best possible user interactions and flow for our clients’ sites while also highlighting key branding and marketing concerns.

To qualify, you must:

  • Have 3+ years of experience as an information architect or interactive/UX designer
  • Possess mastery of Gliffy or Balsamiq
  • Have excellent written and verbal skills
  • Be able to work independently as well as collaborate with the team

Senior Writer

We are seeking a multi-talented senior writer who can write ad copy for an investment bank one day and help create a marketing plan for a nonprofit the next.

To qualify, you must:

  • Have worked for other creative agencies
  • Write in clear, concise, plain English, while layering on a unique editorial voice according to the client’s brand and target audience
  • Be skilled at developing and writing comprehensive, effective, creative positioning and marketing strategies for clients
  • Love the big picture and the details
  • Be able to take complex material and industry jargon and streamline them into linear, engaging stories
  • Enjoy working in many media formats (traditional and digital), on all sizes of projects, and for a wide range of client sectors
  • Want to break new ground
  • Be comfortable taking a project and running with it, but also enjoy collaborating with the team

Design & Marketing Interns

College juniors and seniors as well as recent graduates are welcome to apply for a design internship or a marketing internship at Thinkso.

We are currently filling these timeframes:

  • Summer 2015: May through August
  • Summerall/Winter 2015: September through Decemeber

Thinkso interns are responsible for assisting with:

  • Client and internal projects
  • Presentation preparation
  • Marketing, operational, and administrative tasks

Bonus points for:

  • Digital design experience and passion (websites, mobile apps, email templates)
  • Doing whatever it takes to get the job done
  • Balancing the ability to take direction with taking initiative

Internships at Thinkso pay a stipend in addition to counting toward college credit.
