Thinkso’s culture can be described as a unique combination of “uptight” and “down to earth.” On one hand, Thinksorts — as we’re known — are all Type A, laser focused on the task at hand, continually striving to deliver the best quality in the most efficient way possible. And yet we are a rather laid-back bunch — some of the friendliest, most supportive people you’ll ever meet. We have no tolerance for divas or drama. We love quirkiness, humor, and creativity. And even though we’re a small group, relationships are a big deal. We seek out connections with people who prioritize great work over smooth talk.
In our daily work life, we take time to nourish the creative energy and ethos that make us work so well together. At Cocktales, our weekly team meeting, we engage in themed (and surprisingly entertaining) activities, listen to guest speakers, and catch up with each other. We also share kudos and newly completed projects at our monthly Excellence Meeting.
Every day, we are guided by four core values.
Our core values are embedded in our processes and practices. We use them to direct our decision making, and course correct when we get off track. Although we may not always succeed, we endeavor to embody these values in everything we do.
Thinkso operates as a well-oiled machine to support frictionless creativity and deliver excellence in our client work. Our rigorous project management, the way in which we communicate with each other, even our file naming protocols are testaments to that. Our scrappiness shines through in our eagerness to tackle new challenges and acquire new skills. And from our annual April Fools Day pranks to our traveling mascot, we look for fun, silly, and clever ways to enjoy the ride.
Our Core Values Committee — comprising staff from each discipline of the agency — works to promote and refine the ways we live these values. And every few months, we recognize and vote for the colleague who best embodies the Value of the Quarter. While this person is the unfortunate recipient of all kinds of embarrassing compliments (which we absolutely share on social media), they also receive a gift card to the local business of their choice.
While the satisfaction of a job well done is its own kind of reward, we do provide a few additional perks.
Fully remote “office”
Avoiding the time-suck, frustration, or expense of a commute. Having the ability to throw in a load of laundry. Or walk the dog. Or talk to your kids during the work day. Being productive! Thinkso has the technology and processes in place so that our team can work from where they want and need to.
Work-life balance
Do you like working 50 hours per week? Neither do we. That’s why we have a 37.5-hour work week, with paid holidays (including Winter Break), paid time off that increases with your tenure, and the flexibility to take care of life during business hours.
Pro bono work
Each year during Give a Brand!, we rebrand a small nonprofit for free. Every Thinksort has a hand in the work, with opportunities to stretch beyond their role and take more ownership. This fun and immersive experience—all done on company time—is a chance for the team to give back in a substantive way, while being together in person on the official Brand Raising Day.
Professional development
From developing thoughtful tools to help us better serve our clients (and careers), to pursuing creative projects that enrich both company and personal portfolios, we pursue approved “pet projects” in our down time during business hours.
Annual retreat
From across the country, we gather in person for Flake Day, our annual retreat that’s filled with good eats, even better company, and fun activities “out in the wild” (i.e., locales with limited cell service and views other than our Macs).
Well-being benefits
It should go without saying, but just to make it official: Thinkso provides medical, dental, and vision insurance benefits, paid family leave, and a 401(k) plan with an employer match.
