Ashley-ann Burnett

For Ashley-ann, writing has always been at the center of everything. She has a keen sense of storytelling and concept building, and she’s most excited when using those skills to clarify and enliven complex topics. In her own words, “Nuanced is the best flavor of writing.”

As a writer at Thinkso, Ashley-ann approaches every client project seeking out details that transform the functional into the excellent. She serves clients across sectors, developing content strategy and thought leadership for On-Ramps, financial wellness email and social campaigns for RPB, and website copy and content strategy for Bernstein Shur and Mercer Advisors. Internally, she contributes to thought leadership and outreach, and leads writing for Give a Brand!, our annual pro bono rebrand initiative for small nonprofits.

Ashley-ann earned her BA in sociology from Cornell University, where she worked as a newsletter editor and resident advisor. There, her work focused largely on the relationship between society and culture—an intersection that continues to influence her daily life, sense of self, and approach to writing.

Born in Miami but raised by Brooklyn’s Little Caribbean, Ashley-ann is quick on her feet, with the right kind of confidence to step surely in the dark. If you can’t find her, she’s probably near some body of water putting sticky tabs in a book.

What’s with the spork?

“It’s an underappreciated cutlery item, and I’ll always cheer for the underdog. Plus, it’s a great example of innovating to make something better when it’s already functional—something I do continually as a writer. Try a metal one and you’ll get it.”
