Taking on cancer one step at a time

As the country’s leading cancer center, Memorial Sloan-Kettering looked to depart from a tradition of expensive, cumbersome annual reports. Instead, they gave Thinkso a set of concisely written highlights for their 2011 report and tasked us to design and create an editorial framework that would break the mold. We called the book 10 steps closer — as in closer to a better understanding, a more effective treatment, or even a cure. Each step was paired with artful, collage style, imagery that saved money and time by repurposing existing photography. This novel approach traded the big-budget report for a high-impact, responsibly designed book that really turned heads.
