April Fools’ Day 2025 at Thinkso

April Fools’ Day is perhaps the most celebrated day of the year at Thinkso.
Maybe it’s our way of balancing out the heady, high-stakes work we do. Or maybe, in a remote workplace — where we know our coworkers’ favorite emojis and the exact face they make when juggling too many tabs, but can’t quite remember how tall they are — we’re just looking for ways to stay connected.
Whatever drives us to spend hours concocting these gags each year is anyone’s guess. But one thing’s clear, it’s deeply (un)serious business.
(Some backstory: In February, interested Thinksorts sign up for a Secret Santa-style prank exchange. Each person is assigned a colleague to prank, with just one rule: get creative.)
This year’s pranks ranged from classic Rickrolls to AI-generated letters invalidating professional credentials over long-forgotten gym failures. But the pièce de résistance? One mouse. One mission. One epic journey toward snack justice.
The Great Mouse Rebellion
It started with an email from the tiny rodent that had been sneaking into Shelley’s granola:
From: themouse709@gmail.com
Subject: Petition for the Fair Treatment of Office Mice
Attached? A full list of demands including:
- A Fair and Consistent Feeding Policy
- Rodent-Friendly Initiatives
- An Equitable Snack Supply
Rather than simply having a laugh about the prank, Shelley — always reminding us why she’s our creative director — leaned in, bringing the kind of smart, committed creativity that turns simple into unforgettable. (And gave her prankster, Emily, plenty of room to flex her creative flair and quick thinking.)
Shelley’s reply — written in the voice of Liam Neeson — sparked a volley of increasingly elaborate exchanges. And of course, after her threat, she was promptly served.
Unfortunately, for legal reasons we can’t get into right now, we’re unable to show you the unredacted complaint.

What followed was perhaps the most meaningful HR-adjacent negotiation of the year. Shelley responded requesting a “cheesefire,” pledging:
- Seed and grain additions to her office shopping list
- Removal of barriers to snaccess (aka snack access AND snack success)
- And a zero-tolerance policy on mouse-directed shrieking
The Mouse graciously accepted. And to commemorate the truce, Shelley created a mouse-sized snack station: blueberries, granola, crackers, a mini cupboard labeled ‘Mouse Snacks,’ and the crown jewel — a handcrafted personal pizza from Roberta’s, delivered alongside a pocket-sized copy of Office Mice & Men.

The Mouse responded with a heartfelt team-wide message, praising Shelley’s snack equity leadership and even submitting a cover letter for an open Project Manager role. (It was excellent of course. We’re still reviewing its qualifications.)
Distinguished Lineage
Digital designer and devoted pitbull owner, Olive, received an official-looking letter from the University of Oslo’s Museum of Cultural History, along with a vintage set of dog portraits. According to the prank, her dog, Miloš, is descended from a long and noble line of historically significant dogs. And honestly? The dog’s a diva so that tracks.

Credential Crisis
Jay received a letter from his actual middle school informing him that due to a failed 8th grade rope climbing assessment, all of his academic qualifications were now considered invalid. His NYU degree — and his job — were allegedly at risk unless he passed a re-test. In other news, we may or may not be hiring for a new editorial director.

Feline Felon
A very convincing package arrived by mail for Jordan whose cat is known to make frequent Zoom appearances. Inside: a “Beware of the cat” sign and a printed note from a “concerned neighbor” asking her to post it publicly due to the cat’s history of intimidating local dogs.

Pun & Games
Our punniest team member, Paulina, received a pun-real amount of punny items from her prankster. We apologize if that was too many puns or too many P’s.

Why we do it
Sure, it’s silly. But what this tradition really reveals is the kind of team we are: creative, committed to excellence, and delightfully detail-obsessed (whether we’re crafting a strategy deck or a tiny pizza box).
At Thinkso, everyone’s invested. Our creatives, project managers and ops pros all know how to connect the dots between big ideas and big outcomes — and how to make the process fun along the way. We listen to each other, remember the little things, and believe good work starts with real connection.
So yes, we love a good prank. But we love great work even more. And it turns out, the same qualities that make us excellent collaborators make us pretty good pranksters too. Check out the rest of our pranks this season here.
