Inviting listeners into intimate money conversations

Morgan Stanley was producing a personal finance podcast with a compelling twist: listening in on candid conversations between financial advisors and everyday investors with real-life money challenges. Thinkso’s task was to create promotional assets that were equally compelling—teasing out the emotional and intimate aspects of these conversations to intrigue listeners and keep them engaged across episodes. This included thematic artwork and animated promos for each episode and a season-wide trailer that showcased the most emotionally charged investor quotes. This approach, and the podcast, was a hit—What Should I Do About My Money was one of the most popular financial podcasts of 2023, and was nominated for both a Webby and Shorty award.

The season trailer introduces the campaign’s energetic and fun visual style, using audio clips and striking pull quotes from the episodes to entice viewers to click through to the podcast, engage, and subscribe.

Custom artwork for animated episode promos illustrates the themes for discussion and teases what’s in store for listeners when they click through to the podcast.

Various colorful stickers of different shapes with text related to financial advice, such as "What should I do with my money?" and "I love my financial advisor," are scattered across a table surface.

We were able to be more playful and creative with the podcast promotional items for Morgan Stanley’s National Manager Meeting. Table tents with the QR code gave attendees a quick way to subscribe to the podcast. We wrote and designed the stickers to be something with meaning beyond the podcast so that they were more likely to get picked up and widely used.
